Utilities Giving Away Power as Wind, Sun Flood European Grid

The 15 mile-per-hour winds that buffeted northern Germany on July 24 caused the nation's 21,600 windmills to generate so much power that utilities such as EON AG and RWE AG (RWE) had to pay consumers to take it off the grid.Rather than an anomaly, the event marked the 31st hour this year when power companies lost money on their electricity in the intraday market because of a torrent of supply from wind and solar parks. The phenomenon was unheard of five years ago. With Europe's wind and solar farms set to triple by 2020, utilities investing in new coal and gas-fired power stations no longer face stable returns. As more renewables come on line, a gas plant owned by RWE or EON that may cost $1 billion to build will be stopped more often from running at full capacity. It may only pay for itself on days like Jan. 31, when clouds and still weather pushed an hour of power on the same-day market above 162 ($220) euros a megawatt-hour after dusk, in peak demand time."You're looking at a future where on a sunny day in Germany, you'll have negative prices," Bloomberg New Energy Finance chief solar analyst Jenny Chase said about power rates in wholesale trading. "And a lot of the other markets are heading the same way."Europe's biggest power markets give preference to renewable energy including forcing some utilities to use their fossil-fuel plants less. That cuts into profit, complicating investment decisions as the companies try to meet emission targets and replace older plants and networks that Citigroup Inc. estimates will cost them more than 900 billion euros by 2020.Source:http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2011-09-29/utilities-giving-away-power-as-wind-sun-flood-european-grid.html

Zeitgeist Response to Occupy Wall Street

On Sept 17th 2011, a grassroots expression of contempt was launched in the heart of the world's financial center in lower Manhattan of New York City, also commonly known to the world as the institution of "Wall Street". As of Sept 26th, there have been over 80 arrests and many recorded instances of what appears to be violence and abuse coming from the police and security forces there. However, the protesters remain vigilant in what could very well be a landmark event that will resonate for some time to come. The Zeitgeist Movement would like to extend its public support to this basic expression. As the world awakens to a failing financial system with growing civil unrest emerging without the bias of sovereignty, religion or political loyalty, a new, unifying perspective is slowly taking hold whichtranscends the framework many of us falsely assume as empirical to our way of life. With the slow grind down of the global workforce as machine automation continues to replace human labor for the benefit of corporate cost efficiency, simultaneously reducing purchasing power and hence inevitably stifling so called "Economic Growth"; with the ever expanding Debt Crisis born out of the Fractional Reserve Lending System and the simple reality that money is created out of debt and sold as a commodity in exchange for Interest - Interest that can only again come onto existence through more loan sales; with the looming military programs growing in virtually all major powers as the financial crisis, coupled with a pending hydrocarbon energy crisis, begins to suggest a stage of global conflict possibly never before seen; along with the market psychology of Infinite Growth Consumption that continues to pervade and distort our values and what it means to live in harmony with nature on a finite planet......it might be time we begin to see that the social problems at hand are not specific to any general policy, administration, or even so called "corporate greed". The real problem at hand is actually systematic via the very core foundation of what defines our Economic System and the psychology that is supported and rewarded. The historical illusion that continues to this day is that someone or some group is explicitly to "blame". Rather than focus on the 400 people who have more wealth than 150 million in America or the fact that globally 1% of the world's population has more wealth than 40%, let's instead ask ourselves how such a manifestation is even possible and, more critically, why we would expect anything less? Think about it.After all, it's the "Free-Market", isn't it? Contrary to the statistically void efficiency assumptions made by most Market Economists, the Free-Market simply means anyone can do whatever they want and maximize however they want within the confines of legal legislation; legal legislation which, make no mistake, is also for sale in the Free-Market as well; as are political officials, regulatory institutions and whatever social entity you wish to consider.Nothing but maximizing monetary gain is sacred and anytime a person or group brings some detrimental social or environmental consequence of this system to the forefront, pejorative distinctions are usually branded upon their forehead to stifle such concern and frighten other detractors – such as being called a "Socialist" or "Communist".Furthermore, while people in protest today across the world continue to condemn monetary influence in social dealings such as the legal reality of Corporate Lobbying, even using such colorful terms as "Corporatism", "Crony-Capitalism" and even "Fascism", they seem to misunderstand what this system is and always has been. The Free-Market model of Economics is a haphazard, unscientific anarchy of organization which assumes that any person or group with enough money and hence power will be "responsible" in their actions both socially and environmentally. The problem is that the very definition of being "financially responsible" actually means to be socially and environmentally exploitative, manipulative and negligent, for the main driver of this system is Inefficiency. The more problems in society in general, the more jobs are created and the more rich the upper 1% become. There is an empirical decoupling from what actually supports life and no alteration of the core configuration of the monetary-market Incentive will likely change that.On a different level, this system, as an historical evolution, is actually based on a culturally hegemonic pretense. Once economic advantage is obtained, it will likely be kept. This is why everything in the system favors the wealthy by its general structure and inherent logic. While the public might complain about the fact that top Hedge Fund Managers bring in over 300 million dollars per year, they often do not find objection with an Interest system that rewards those with high deposits and essentially taxes those using credit. While you may buy your home with a loan, paying thousands in interest a year, a person of wealth can make a CD Investment and gain free interest income simply because they have the money to spare.Class separation and perpetuation and the growing wealth divide is not a byproduct. It is inevitable. In the Free-Market, one is actually "free" to take away the liberty of others through the mere economic pressures generated from the game. You are only as free as the size of your wallet. The term "Institution Racism" was coined by civil rights activist Stokely Carmichael in the 1960s referring to how often unnoticed underlying policies and structures within the social system undermined African-American prosperity and equality. What we have today is a mere variation: "Institutional Classicism".Wall Street itself, which is the ultimate manifestation of the pursuit of money as a commodity rather than any form of true creation or social contribution, is naturally a ripe entity for symbolic objection for, at a minimum, it shouldn't exist at all and most certainly not have the grand effect it does on the stability of the global economy today, regardless of the inherent shortcomings denoted. However, that stated, it must again be made clear that Wall Street and the Banking System are not the source of our problems. They are only symptoms of an Economic System which will continue to fail by the very gravity of its outdated and false assumptions of human conduct and environmental relationships. The question then becomes, what do we put in its place? ~ZAbout:The Zeitgeist Movement is a global sustainability activist group working to bring the world together for the common goal of species sustainability before it is too late. It is a social movement, not a political one, with over 1100 chapters across nearly all countries. Divisive notions such as nations, governments, races, political parties, religions, creeds or class are non-operational distinctions in the view of The Movement.
Are jobs obsolete? - CNN.com

Today, Douglas Rushkoff of CNN published a story explaining what the Zeitgeist Movement has been saying since the beginning. Automation is taking jobs away and jobs created by automation are considerably fewer in number! It doesn't take a rocket scientist to see what is ahead.I find this story amusing and relevant. Everytime I try to explain to someone that jobs are being automated away, the standard reply is always, "But jobs are also being created to manufacture and maintain the robots!" Yes, they are, but the problem becomes abundantly clear when you try to quantify how many jobs are lost by automation versus how many are created by it. The gap is enormous!Mr. Rushkoff is using the postal service to indicate this trend. Let's go with that."Unless an external source of funding comes in, the post office will have to scale back its operations drastically, or simply shut down altogether. That's 600,000 people who would be out of work, and another 480,000 pensioners facing an adjustment in terms."But don't worry. All those skilled mail sorting people can easily get jobs working elsewhere, right? They just have to scrape together a small fortune from their now absent wages and return to college to get new degrees."We can blame a right wing attempting to undermine labor, or a left wing trying to preserve unions in the face of government and corporate cutbacks. But the real culprit - at least in this case - is e-mail. People are sending 22% fewer pieces of mail than they did four years ago, opting for electronic bill payment and other net-enabled means of communication over envelopes and stamps....We like to believe that the appropriate response is to train humans for higher level work. Instead of collecting tolls, the trained worker will fix and program toll-collecting robots. But it never really works out that way, since not as many people are needed to make the robots as the robots replace."How many server administrators does it take to screw in a light bulb? I don't know, but it only takes one to manage a handful of e-mail servers. You heard me right. My employer has a few e-mail servers, each capable of serving an entire city, and we only employ one server admin to manage them. He receives a text message on his cell phone anytime there is a problem and he can use any SSH client to login to the server and deal with it from his home.So then the manufacturing of the e-mail servers must account for the new jobs, right? Wrong again! An e-mail server can be created with a few keystrokes within any cloud computing data center in Washington D.C. or Dallas. If you prefer having a physical server, the same assembly line that produced any web server can also produce an e-mail server because the only difference between them is the software that is on them. That means the same industrial employees who produced our web servers also made our e-mail servers, indicating a consolidation of jobs, not expansion.Ok fine! What about hiring more people to further develop the e-mail server software? For most servers, that would be a program call "Sendmail," which is - uh oh - open-sourced! There are others that are not, but are used less often (i.e. Microsoft Exchange). It is not all downhill though. A handful of jobs are created to develop security software to block hackers and spam. Another handful of jobs are created to write new client software. These, however, are miniscule compared to the hundreds of thousands being rendered jobless because people are switching to e-mail."The question we have to begin to ask ourselves is not how do we employ all the people who are rendered obsolete by technology, but how can we organize a society around something other than employment? Might the spirit of enterprise we currently associate with 'career' be shifted to something entirely more collaborative, purposeful, and even meaningful?"You're on the right track now, Mr. Rushkoff. That is exactly what needs to be asked now. We need a new system because circumstances are different now. The monetary market paradigm for labor and wages is coming to an end and a new method must be adopted.Source:http://www.cnn.com/2011/OPINION/09/07/rushkoff.jobs.obsolete/index.htmlhttp://www.sendmail.org/

TZM: Response to Media; Death of Osama bin Laden

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
TZM: Response to Media; Death of Osama bin Laden
On May 1, 2011 Pres. Barack Obama appeared on national television with the spontaneous announcement that Osama bin Laden, the purported organizer of the tragic events of September 11th 2001, was killed by military forces in Pakistan.
Within moments, a media blitz ran across virtually all television networks in what could only be described as a grotesque celebratory display, reflective of a level of emotional immaturity that borders on cultural psychosis. Depictions of people running through the streets of New York and Washington chanting jingoistic American slogans, waving their flags like the members of some cult, praising the death of another human being, reveals yet another layer of this sickness we call modern society.
It is not the scope of this response to address the political usage of such an event or to illuminate the staged orchestration of how public perception was to be controlled by the mainstream media and the United States Government. Rather the point of this article is to express the gross irrationality apparent and how our culture becomes so easily fixed and emotionally charged with respect to surface symbology, rather than true root problems, solutions or rational considerations of circumstance.
The first and most obvious point is that the death of Osama bin Laden means nothing when it comes to the problem of international terrorism. His death simply serves as catharsis for a culture that has a neurotic fixation on revenge and retribution. The very fact that the Government which, from a psychological standpoint, has always served as a paternal figure for it citizens, reinforces the idea that murdering people is a solution to anything should be enough for most of us to take pause and consider the quality of the values coming out of the zeitgeist itself.
However, beyond the emotional distortions and tragic, vindictive pattern of rewarding the continuation of human division and violence comes a more practical consideration regarding what the problem really is and the importance of that problem with respect to priority.
The death of any human being is of an immeasurable consequence in society. It is never just the death of the individual. It is the death of relationships, companionship, support and the integrity of familial and communal environments. The unnecessary deaths of 3000 people on September 11, 2001 is no more or no less important than the deaths of those during the World Wars, via cancer and disease, accidents or anything else.
As a society, it is safe to say that we seek a world that strategically limits all such unnecessary consequences through social approaches that allow for the greatest safety our ingenuity can create. It is in this context that the neurotic obsession with the events of September 11th, 2001 become gravely insulting and detrimental to progress. An environment has now been created where outrageous amounts of money, resources and energy is spent seeking and destroying very small subcultures of human beings that pose ideological differences and act on those differences through violence.
Yet, in the United States alone each year, roughly 30,000 people die from automobile accidents, the majority of which could be stopped by very simple structural changes. That's ten 9/11's each year... yet no one seems to pine over this epidemic. Likewise, over 1 million Americans die from heart disease and cancer annually - causes of which are now easily linked to environmental influences in the majority. Yet, regardless of the over 330 9/11's occurring each year in this context, the governmental budget allocations for research on these illnesses is only a fraction of the money spent on “anti-terrorism” operations.
Such a list could go on and on and with regard to the perversion of priority when it comes to what it means to truly save and protect human life and I hope many out there can recognize the severe unbalance we have at hand with respect to our values.
So, coming back to the point of revenge and retribution, I will conclude this response with a quote from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., likely the most brilliant intuitive mind when it came to conflict and the power of non-violence. On September 15, 1963 a Birmingham Alabama church was bombed, killing four little girls attending Sunday school.
In a public address, Dr. King stated:
“What murdered these four girls? Look around. You will see that many people that you never thought about participated in this evil act. So tonight all of us must leave here with a new determination to struggle. God has a job for us to do. Maybe our mission is to save the soul of America. We can't save the soul of this nation throwing bricks. We can't save the soul of this nation getting our ammunitions and going out shooting physical weapons. We must know that we have something much more powerful. Just take up the ammunition of love.”
- Dr. Martin Luther King, 1963

TVP Separates from TZM

In a recent US Meeting, the agenda turned over to accommodate addressing the recent TVP criticism of TZM. Since the matter was of utmost importance to address, Peter Joseph was in attendance to provide his perspective on the situation and shed light on his position. During the course of the extended meeting, Roxanne was invited to join and during this time she gave a final response to TZM. The end result was disappointing and disheartening to many dedicated volunteers. Both entities move forward towards advocating a global, resource-based economy, but TVP has opted to restrict use of materials to only advocates who join their forthcoming new platform for activism associated directly with The Venus Project organization.
Although the digital face of the movement will begin to undergo a massive makeover to accommodate the request for non-association, rest assured that as no one person or entity owns the exclusive rights to the scientific method or the intention to prioritize human life value in the very design of an environment, The Zeitgeist Movement can continue forward as a mass communication network of volunteers who advocate educating others about a global, resource-based economy (not successfully trademarked btw) through an entirely grassroots effort. Not as competitors, but as another support mechanism for a better, more improved future for humankind that has evolved from many great minds over many hundreds of years of scientific research and innovation, Fresco among many. The past few years were still just the very beginning of the transition…the objective still remains so much bigger than any one person.
We will be in touch with further developments on the new TZM…
Standing with you on the shoulders of giant ideas,

Zeitgeist: Moving Forward Release *UPDATE*

I'm happy to report that "Zeitgeist: Moving Forward" is a wild success and turned into an unprecedented film release premiere. What started as a thought of having maybe 30 total theaters screening the film instead turned into 30 languages alone with a total count of 335 theaters in 60 countries, and still growing daily! With multiple screenings at most of the 335 theaters, our total number of screenings is well over 1,000 world-wide. The response to the film has been huge... reports coming in of sold-out crowds in venues ranging upwards of 500-900 seat capacity.
With only minimal feedback so far, here are some noteworthy examples of the global impact of ZMF. In Vancouver, Canada they booked an 820 seat theater but had about 2,000 people show up! Ryan, the coordinator, had to turn hundreds away and fortunately was able to secure another 700 seat venue for a few days later. In Serbia, the coordinator Milan, had a 400 seat theater overflowing with people, many people sitting on the floor and in the aisles! They "had" to book additional screenings to meet the demand. Bruno from Brazil is reporting over capacity crowds and booked new screenings in larger venues. Natalija, the Croatian coordinator, had sell out crowds with professors, scientists and media in attendance and requests to interview her. Stefan in Denmark and Seth in the Netherlands have both had press and public screenings that included former members of Parliament, scientists and professors as well as media with interviews. In Russia, the theaters finally caught the buzz about the film and have agreed to screen in 2 theaters, which were virtually impossible to secure before.
South Africa had overflow capacity and booked additional screenings. Rishi from India, has reported our largest venue at 2,000 seats at Goa University. Malak, our Palestinian coordinator, will be screening at the Ebdaa' Institution at the Al-Dehesha Refugee Camp in the West Bank. Federico, the Italian coordinator, had arguably the biggest TV celebrity in Italy, Paolo Bonolis, attend the Rome screening and publicly express his love for ZMF. He wants to dedicate an episode of his programme, "Il senso della vita", to the Zeitgeist Movement. His show reached up to 8 million viewers and is among the most watched in Italy. Dozens of broadcasting requests have come in for post Jan 25th television broadcast, as well as film festival interest.
The Los Angeles premiere hosted by Artivist Film Festival on Jan. 15th was a big hit with a sell out crowd of 845! There was audience applause throughout the film and a standing ovation at the end. Michael Ruppert was in attendance and Lili Haydn, whose music was featured in parts of ZMF, as well as noteworthy progressives. LA's most popular independent radio station KPFK was filming the event and interviewed Peter and guests. Artivist filmed the Q & A with Peter and that will be available online soon.
This has developed to possibly be the largest independent global theatrical premiere, covering the most languages, countries and locations. The movie and the movement are on the global radar now and your efforts are a huge part of this success!
*INTERNET RELEASE:
The Online Release is set for Jan. 25th but could happen sooner depending on the level of theatrical interest. This delay is to ensure that the non-profit events are sustained enough so the parties who have taken on the risk can hopefully make back their expenses. Any money obtained otherwise goes towards their Chapter's work - specifically ZDAY 2011
*DVD RELEASE:
The DVD release will occur in late Jan., including the free, full resolution, dual layer DVD Torrent download in 30 language subtitles.
A 5$ DVD is also available from http://zeitgeistmovingforward.com and is now available for Pre-Order:
http://zeitgeistmovingforward.com/dvd
Please note that while Peter offers his films for free online viewing and free download, with no restriction on non-sale duplication/distribution and free public display - he simply cannot continue creating such media unless some do, indeed, actually buy the DVD. So, please respect this if you care about the Zeitgeist Film Project. The DVD is a dual layer, 8 gig with the full 2 hour and 41 min film, in a standard, sealed case; offered for 75% less than the commercial price of most DVDs. This film cost over $200,000 to create and if you want to see Zeitgeist IV (!), you will need to help him recover from this huge work.
*PRESS/MEDIA:
Please submit all photos, videos, press, local promotional materials and quotable statistics to zmf@thezeitgeistmovement.com. We are going to compile all your materials into a virtual "scrapbook" to be posted on the ZMF site. At a glance, this will illustrate the reach and success of this film release. Once the premiere period ends Jan 25th and I get the final counts in, I will compile our potentially record-breaking numbers and post that information on the site.
Have a look at the global map and see the span of locations ZMF is screening:

The Mainstream Media Association Created Between "Zeitgeist" and the Tucson Murders

PUBLIC STATEMENT FROM THE CREATOR OF THE "ZEITGEIST FILM SERIES", PETER JOSEPH:
RE: THE MAINSTREAM MEDIA ASSOCIATION CREATED BETWEEN "ZEITGEIST" AND THE TUCSON MURDERS.
It has come to my attention that various mainstream news organizations are beginning to run an association between my 2007 performance piece/film, "Zeitgeist: The Movie" and the tragic murders conducted by an extremely troubled young man in Tucson, Arizona. They are also slowly beginning to bleed the obvious line between my 2007 documentary work, my film series as a whole and The Zeitgeist Movement, which I am the founder. Frankly, I find this isolating, growing association tremendously irresponsible on the part of ABC, NBC and their affiliates - further reflecting the disingenuous nature of the America Media Establishment today.
It appears to have begun with a comment on NBC news referencing my film along with other "influential" films as well, such as Richard Kelly's film "Donnie Darko" and then spreading to ABC News where it singled out "Zeitgeist: The Movie" and the Series itself, stating:
"Osler pointed to an online documentary series called "Zeitgeist" as a possible influence on the man.
The series rails on currency-based economics.
"I really think that this 'Zeitgeist' documentary had a profound impact on Jared's mindset and how he viewed that world that he lives in," Osler said."
http://abcnews.go.com/US/tucson-shooting-friend...ed/story?id=12597092
When we reflect on the history of seemingly random violence or other forms of highly offensive, irrational, aberrant behavior, we see a common pattern of reaction from the public and media in their attempt to explain such extreme acts. Rather than deeply examining the Bio-Psycho-Social nature of human social development and the vast spectrum of influences that create and morph each of us in unique and sometimes detrimental ways, they take the easy way out. The first thing they do is simply ignore all modern scientific, social understandings of what generates human motivation in both positive and negative regard, for to do so can only call into question the social system itself and hence the "zeitgeist" (meaning: spirit/intellectual climate of the time/culture) at large.
Generally speaking, it is historically accurate to say that the Mainstream Media simply isn't in the business of challenging the Status Quo. The limits of debate are firmly set. Virtually all ideas, persons or groups who have succeeded in changing the world for the better, later to be hailed as heros in the public mind, started out being condemned by those in the Mainstream Media who latch on to the dominant world view of the time. Even Martin Luther King Jr., a peaceful, loving, wonder of a man who contributed more to our social progress than likely any humanitarian in the US history, was followed by the CIA and publicly humiliated as a "Communist" which he even had to defend in front of a Congressional Committee. In fact, you can rest assured that if King were alive in the current paradigm today and seeking an equal form of justice - he would be given the name: "Terrorist".
So, again, rather than taking the scientific view, the Mainstream Media often seeks out or implies one point of blame and runs with it. After all, it is much easier, presentable and more simplistic for the public to think that the troubling reality of seemingly random acts of mass murder is the result of a "singular influence" and hence the logic goes that if that one influence is removed, then the world will be back in balance. This gives the public a false resolve and position of focus in an otherwise ambiguous, complex world of social and biological influences. And as far as the scapegoat itself, very often any group, media or dataset that is counter-culture or even hints at wishing to challenge the status quo, is a magnet for such blame.
For example, musical groups of a counter-culture nature have been a favorite scapegoat for acts of murder/violence historically. In 1990, the rock band Judas Priest was actually taken to court for their "role" in the self-inflicted gunshot wounds in 1985 of 20-year old James Vance and 18-year old Raymond Belknap in Reno, Nevada. In 2008, the band Slipknot was publicly tied/blamed to a high-school murder in South Africa. Even the Beatles song "Helter-skelter" was associated to the murders incited by Charles Manson. It goes on and on... and, frankly, it's simply pathetic - avoiding the true nature of the problem - which is the Socio-Economic Environment itself.
Make no mistake: The Social System is to blame for the rampage of Jared Loughner – not some famous online documentary which is known as the most viewed documentary of all time in internet history. Are the other 200 million people who have seen the film also preparing for murder sprees? I think not.
In my new film: "Zeitgeist: Moving Forward", I feature a prominent Harvard Criminal Psychologist by the name of Dr. James Gilligan who headed the Centre for the Study of Violence at Harvard Medical School for many years. In his life work of personally engaging the most dangerous, violent offenders the US system produces, he found some basic trends. The most common is the social issue of "shame". Our socio-economic system inherently breeds social division and there is a natural demeaning of others generated as a result. It is a scientific fact that mass murderers and those who many just dismiss as "evil" today, are the product of years of being shamed, humiliated and demeaned. Their acts of violence is a reaction from these highly oppressive feelings and the real resolve to such acts can only come from removing the real source of such emotional hurt. You will notice that most other countries don't come close to the level of violence we see in the United States. The US is the capital of violence with 30-300 times more acts of violence than any other country. We have produced more serial killers in America than all other countries combined. Why? You will notice the Mainstream never asks this question.
If anyone would like to understand why more and more people in the modern world end up like Jared Loughner and why these patterns are only going to get worse as time goes on in this system, I suggest the book "Violence" by Harvard Criminal Psychologist Dr. Gilligan.
In conclusion, let it be stated that the Zeitgeist Film Series is about critical thought regarding various social issues which challenge many erroneous notions held as fact in the modern culture. It also explicitly promotes non-violence, human unity and prosperous human development based on truth and science.
Anyone who wishes to really understand the works can view them for free online at zeitgeistmovie.com and my new film, which will detail how a new, humane social system can work, will be in 315 theaters in 60 countries and 30 languages starting Jan 15th 2011. www.zeitgeistmovingforward.com
I am also in contact with my legal team and considering legal action against ABC.

Watch out for Fake Releases of Zeitgeist Moving Forward!

Friends,
The Internet Release of Zeitgeist: Moving Forward will occur, as of now, on Jan 25th, 2011.
It will be released only through ZeitgeistMovie.com channels.
…I state this because it has come to my attention that a group of trolls are intending to "leak" my "film" in advance.
In other words, they intend to create a bunk film and release it online around Jan 15th 2011. So, just to create a public notice:
-The film does not and will not exist in anyone else's possession before mid Jan. Nothing can be "leaked".
-The theatrical versions are not going to be uploaded, as they are specially formatted/timed. Each group displaying the work will also have a custom, hidden-water marked copy…and if they upload it before hand, I will not only have it taken down, I will act on the confidentiality legal agreements which all 130+ event coordinators are signing.
Peter

Stop the Internet Blacklist Bill!

"We just found out that they're bringing back the Internet blacklist bill for a vote on Thursday -- less than a week from now! We've spent the week meeting people in DC and I can tell you our petition is definitely making a difference. This bill was supposed to pass without objection, but now even Politico is calling it "hotly debated" -- all thanks to you.
The first vote will be by the Senate Judiciary Committee. Do you have any friends in California, Vermont, Wisconsin, New York, Minnesota, or Illinois who haven't signed the petition yet? Their senators will be the key votes in deciding whether this bill passes. Can you forward them this email and ask them to sign on at:
http://act.demandprogress.org/go/11?akid=19.6740.wWYfpY&t=2
Remember, this bill--in blatant violation of the Constitution--would let the Attorney General create a blacklist of websites that every American ISP would be required to block. Wikileaks, YouTube, and others are all at risk. Human rights advocates, constitutional law experts, and the people who invented the Internet have all spoken out against this bill -- but some of the most powerful industries in the country are demanding that Congress rush it through. The music industry is even having all of their employees call Congress to pose as citizens in support of the bill."

We must protect the Internet and our freedom of speech. The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is also part of this effort to quickly remove our rights before someone realizes their profit interests are threatened by us. It is business as usual in America, people. We have one group trying to control another group and since they can't do it legally, they try to do it illegally and make it look legal. It's not. Even if this bill passes, it is still illegal based on the Constitution. The politicians may not see the light, but they'll feel the heat if we build a fire under their seats.

In Response to the Oil Spill in the Gulf of Mexico

IN RESPONSE TO THE OIL SPILL IN THE GULF OF MEXICO
-FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE-
www.thezeitgeistmovement.com
>>>(Venus, Florida- May 12rd, 2010) On the Gulf Coast of the United States the shock is now setting in for millions of American citizens as we now realize the true extent of the damage caused by our desire for obsolete and dangerous fossil fuels, and our perpetuation of an outdated monetary world society, where the bottom line has always been profit at all costs, be it human or environmental. It is time for a viable solution to deal with a system hardwired for self destruction.
It is with that very unfortunate introduction that we, The Zeitgeist Movement, now must enter the international conversation to express the need for true change. That word is not some jingoist slogan devised by a focus group, but the evident desire of the public for a meaningful transition out of the destructive legacy, the burden of our past mistakes as a maturing civilization. We only have one Earth; there is no reset button here.
We must break out of our established ideologies that have prevented progress. Ending the political duality, economic stratification and false divisions is key to overcoming our apparent historical bondage that says the future we were promised must remain an elusive dream. We must now rethink our society and outgrow those parts of it that serve to paralyze us.
As of Friday, April 30th it was reported by CBS News (US) that the spill had spread to cover 2,100 square miles and was still spilling at a rate up to 5,000 barrels (210,000 gallons) a day. As of today, there has been no progress in stopping this catastrophe. This did not have to happen. It happened because we continue to use an obsolete technology for the sake of maintaining a profitable establishment. An establishment that perpetuates vast inequality in its wages to its employees versus its core owners, destroys fragile and vital eco-systems, and pollutes our air.
It is time for real change, not empty promises. No amount of socialism or free market ideology will save us from ourselves, there needs to be a fundamental re-write of what we think we know, to achieve a sustainable human enterprise.
Our generation has stood and watched as our planet has been raped and pillaged, yet we do nothing. Our generation has stood and watched as our government bailed out the very people who created this economic crisis, yet we do nothing. Our generation has stood and watched as our rights have been stripped away from us, and yet we do nothing. Our generation has stood and watched as we have been handed the problems of the countless generations before it, and we are preparing to do the same to the next generation, and we do nothing.
Let us be the first generation to hand solutions to our children and our children's children. But we can't do it alone. Let us break down the barriers we have created amongst ourselves. We need all of you, every last one, to say enough is enough in one voice. Not as Americans or Russians, Christians or Muslims, but as fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters. Let us destroy the lines between us and work to create a world where our children are truly safe and free. Let us create a world where we can tell our children that they can be and do whatever their heart desires, and know deep inside us we are telling them the truth. Let our generation be the one.
We have the tools, we have the knowledge, we have the technology. It is time we make the transition to a world, an economy, and a future we all deserve regardless of geographic location or economic disposition. As long as we rely on legacy systems defined in a 19th century mentality all we will do is spin our wheels while a parade of economic and ecologic disasters visits us again and again. It is time to pull the plug on this charade because as you will find out, there is a better way.
We, the Zeitgeist Movement representatives, reach out to you so that we can all work together to do what must be done. Every man, woman and child has a voice, but together we can create one voice so deafening that no one will have a choice but to listen. But it requires you. It requires you put away preconceived notions you have been told about "the way things are" as if it is the only way, because it's not! Our way of thinking will no longer sustain us. We can either remain in the house of cards we have built and watch it collapse all around us, or we can, through the best our society has to offer, begin to construct a stable mature and thriving society so that the Gulf Coast Oil Spill, the Exxon Valdez and many others are nothing more then an embarrassing footnote in history.
The choice is yours.www.thezeitgeistmovement.com

Zeitgeist the Movie 3

I had the pleasure of sitting in on the international coordinator's meeting on Teamspeak this past week. There was extensive talk of Peter's next film, the third Zeitgeist Movie. Peter has stated during his most recent radio address that he hopes this movie will appeal to the academic audience as well as the hardened supporters of the Zeitgeist Movement. Details of what the film contains have been understandably slim.
Peter also stated in his most recent radio address this past Wednesday that it may be his last radio address for a while. Now that Z-Day 2010 is over, he hopes to focus his efforts on completing the third film and have it released by October 2010. The movement's international coordinators are already planning a massive worldwide event not unlike Z-Day to coincide with the release of the third film to include public viewings for both movement supporters and curious potential supporters.
Peter has been incredibly vague on any details of what the third film will contain and has been enthusiastic, but cautious, toward pre-release efforts to translate the film to other languages in preparation for its worldwide release. He noted that there was considerable exploitation of the previous two films and explains his reluctance to speak about it is in favor of minimizing the exploitation of the film's content prior to its official release.
